Membership Fees *

1. The membership cost is $100. Please forward payment to cjra2025@gmail.com
2. I understand that CJRA is primarily funded through donations and that my 2025 membership fee will be waived if I secure a sponsorship of $200 or more for the organization
3. I understand that each contestant is required to sell 10 raffle tickets, valued at $10 each, for the season and finals fundraiser. Tickets will be distributed to contestants at the first few rodeos and must be returned by July 15, 2025. Payment for the tickets is due at the time of membership, and any tickets sold will be credited directly to the contestant.

Release & Waiver *

1. I acknowledge that rodeo is a dangerous activity and involves RISK that may cause SERIOUS INJURY AND IN SOME CASES DEATH, because of the unpredictable nature and irrational behavior of horses, bulls, sheep and/or cattle, regardless of their training and/or past performance.
2. I HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE any participant, Canadian Junior Roughstock Association, and/or any subdivision thereof, stock contractor, rodeo association, arena operators or owners, officials or any in or around the rodeo arena, promoters, sponsors, sponsoring groups, advertisers, owners and lessees of premises used to conduct the event, and each of them, their officers and employees, all for the purpose herein referred to as “releasees”, from all liability to any undersigned, his/her personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, for any loss or damage, and any claim or demands therefore an account of injury to the person or property or resulting in death of the undersigned whether caused by negligence of the releasees or otherwise, while the undersigned is competing, officiating in, observing, working for, or for any purpose participating in the event.
3. I AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the releasees and each of them from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur due to the presence of the undersigned in anyway competing, officiating, observing, working for, or for any purpose participating in the event, and whether caused by negligence of the releasees or otherwise.
4. I HEREBY ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND RISK OF BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE due to the negligence of releasees or otherwise while competing, officiating, observing, or working for, or for any purpose participating in the event. No intoxicated person may compete or participate in the rodeo event.
5. I expressly acknowledge and agree that the activities of the event are dangerous and involve the risk of serious injury, and/or death, and/or property damage. I further expressly agree that the foregoing release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of Alberta, and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, not withstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
6. I acknowledge that all equipment is used at my own risk and I acknowledge that there is no EMT or medical personal on site.
7. I am the parent and/or legal guardian and I acknowledge that the participant voluntarily elects to participate in this activity with knowledge of the danger involved, and hereby agrees to accept and assume any and all risks of property damage, personal injury, or death.
8. I HAVE READ AND VOLUNTARILY SIGNS THE RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, AND FURTHER AGREE THAT NO ORAL REPRESENTATIONS, STATEMENTS, OR INDUCEMENTS APART FROM THE FOLLOWING AGREEMENT HAVE BEEN MADE.
